Most AI astrology asks a language model what your sign means. Shymea computes your chart first — 230+ structured factors from the real sky — and only then lets the AI interpret what was calculated.

Before any AI is involved, Shymea derives your placements, houses, aspects, dignities, and current transits from NASA JPL's DE442 ephemeris via Skyfield — the same astronomical data used for spacecraft navigation. The model receives those computed factors and explains them. It never does the astronomy itself.

Grounded in your chart means bounded by your chart. Where the astrology is genuinely ambiguous, the answer says so instead of inventing certainty.
What AI astrology should not be asked to do
A language model is good at explaining a Saturn square in plain English and bad at knowing where Saturn is. Almost every failure of AI astrology comes from asking it to do the second job. Shymea splits them: the ephemeris computes, the model interprets, and the boundary is visible in the methodology rather than hidden behind a chat window.
We also don't ask it to be a fortune teller. Shymea won't hand you fear-based predictions, won't claim your chart fixes your future, and won't tell you a relationship is doomed or guaranteed. It reads what is actually in the chart and puts it in words you can use.

- Is AI astrology accurate?
- It depends entirely on what the AI is asked to do. A model asked to recall planetary positions from memory will get them wrong. A model handed positions computed from the DE442 ephemeris and asked to explain them is doing a language task, which is what it is good at. Shymea is built the second way — the astronomy is computed, then interpreted.
- How is this different from asking ChatGPT about my birth chart?
- A general chatbot has to guess your placements, and it will confidently produce plausible wrong ones — especially house cusps and anything dated. Shymea computes your chart from your exact birth moment first and passes the result in. Ask about a specific future year and you get that year's real computed transits rather than an improvisation.
- Does the AI see my birth details?
- No. Your birth date, time, and place are used by the calculation layer to derive the chart and are not transmitted to the model. What the model receives is derived placements, and names are tokenized before any request.
- Can AI replace an astrologer?
- No, and we don't pitch it that way. What it can do is make your own chart legible at any hour, in plain language, without you having to learn the notation first. A good human astrologer brings judgment and lived context that no model has.
- Can it predict my future?
- It can tell you what the sky is actually doing and when — those dates are computed and real. What that means for your life is interpretation, and Shymea treats it as material for reflection rather than as a verdict. The choices stay yours.
