Shymea Editorial is a team, not a person

Articles in the Shymea Journal are published under the byline Shymea Editorial. That is an organisational byline covering work produced by the Shymea team, in the same way a newsroom publishes staff-written pieces. There is no individual author behind it, and we do not present one. Where you see first-person language in an article, it is the editorial voice of the publication, not a personal account of anyone's practice.

How articles are produced

Journal articles are educational explainers about Western astrology — what a technique is, how it is calculated, how practitioners read it. They are drafted with AI assistance and edited by the Shymea team before publication. They are general explanations of method, not readings of any individual's chart, and nothing in them is computed from a reader's birth data.

Where the astronomy comes from

The calculations in the Shymea app — birth charts, transits, synastry, horary, astrocartography — are computed from NASA JPL's DE442 ephemeris via the Skyfield library, using the tropical zodiac and Placidus houses, with Regiomontanus houses for horary. That engine is documented on our methodology page. Journal articles and the Learn guides explain those techniques; they are not themselves generated by the chart engine.

What we do not claim

We do not claim that our articles are written by a practising astrologer, and we do not attach invented credentials, years of practice, or client stories to them. Astrology articles across the web frequently do; we would rather be plainly accurate about what we are. When a named astrologer reviews an article, that person will be named on the article with their real credentials, and not before.

Astrology and evidence

Astrology is not a science and has no established predictive validity in the scientific literature. We build it carefully because the astronomy underneath it is exact and because the tradition is worth representing accurately, not because we are claiming it has been proven. Shymea is not a substitute for medical, financial, legal or psychological advice.

Corrections

If you find an error — an astronomical figure, a date, a misdescribed technique — write to support@shymea.com. We correct the article and note the change. Calculation errors in the app itself are treated as bugs and fixed at the engine level so every reader gets the corrected result.
