The best astrology app in 2026 is the one that fits you

Six apps, their real App Store prices and what each listing says it does. No star ratings, no made-up scores, and our own app clearly labelled.

At a glance

There's no single winner. TimePassages is cheapest per year ($59.99), CHANI priciest ($107.99), and the right pick depends on what you want it to do.

  • Compare the prices to ours. If one changed, the listing wins, not this page.
  • Prices vary by country. These are US list prices before tax.

You searched "best astrology app 2026" and you probably got a wall of listicles where the winner happens to be the company writing it. We are a company writing it. Shymea is our app, so we built this page so you never have to trust our taste.

Here's the rule we held ourselves to: every feature and price comes from the public US App Store listing for each app, copied on 2026-10-18, and linked so you can check it yourself. Shymea's subscription price comes from our own pricing page, because the store listing doesn't print it. No scores out of ten. No "users love it". No invented numbers.

That means the table can only say what a listing describes. If an app does something its listing doesn't mention, it shows as "Not listed", not "No". Fair to them, and honest about the limits of a desk check.

Six apps made the cut: Shymea, Co-Star, The Pattern, CHANI, TimePassages, Nebula. They are the Western-astrology names people search side by side, plus Nebula as the best-known advisor-chat app, so you can see how a different model works.

The money

From $59.99 to $107.99 a year

Try this today

  • Use the free tier for a week. If you open it daily, the yearly plan makes sense.
  • Check whether reports or questions are inside the subscription or sold on top.
  • Set a calendar reminder the day before any trial ends.

Every app here is free to download. The real question is what the paid tier costs once the free taste runs out.

Cheapest year: TimePassages, $59.99 a year. Priciest: CHANI, $107.99 a year. In between sit The Pattern ($83.99 a year), Shymea ($89.99 a year, ours) and Co-Star, whose listing shows only a monthly $8.99 plan, so a full year at that rate is $107.88.

Paying yearly is where the savings live. TimePassages's yearly plan is 37% less than twelve monthly payments, The Pattern's 53%, Shymea's 25% and CHANI's 25%.

Then there are the extras. Co-Star sells question packs (Question packs $2.99 (5), $4.99 (10), $6.99 (25)). TimePassages sells single charts from $0.99. Nebula runs advisor chat from a prepaid balance, and its listing shows several plan prices without saying which billing period each one covers, so we left its yearly cost blank rather than guess.

The accuracy question

What "most accurate astrology app" really means

The planets are the easy part. Your birth time is the hard part.Photo: Shelby Bowers / Burst

Try this today

  • Enter the same birth date, time and city in two apps.
  • Your Sun, Moon and planet signs should match. If they don't, check the time zone.
  • Different rising signs? Look for the house system setting before blaming the app.

There are two kinds of accuracy, and listicles blur them.

Positions. Where the planets were when you were born is astronomy, and modern ephemerides agree to tiny fractions of a degree. Any serious app should land your Sun, Moon and planets in the same signs. If two apps give you different Moon signs, the usual culprit is the birth time or the time zone you entered, not the math. We publish how our own calculations compare against JPL data on our ephemeris accuracy page.

Your rising sign and houses move roughly a degree every four minutes, so an hour's error can change your whole chart. Which app is "accurate" here depends on you finding your exact birth time, and on which house system the app uses. Our whole sign vs Placidus guide shows how much that one setting shifts things.

Interpretation is the part no one can measure with a ruler. It's tradition and reflection, not a guaranteed forecast. Pick the voice that helps you think, and ignore any app that claims a measured accuracy percentage for its horoscopes.

The big three

Co-Star vs The Pattern vs CHANI

Three apps, three moods: the group chat, the therapist's couch, the candlelit ritual.Photo: Leandro Almeida / Burst

These three get compared most, and they want different things from you.

Co-Star (since 2017) is social. Its listing leads with daily horoscopes, push notifications and comparing charts with friends. Pro-Star is $8.99 a month, and "Ask the stars" questions come in packs. The listing says its astrologers collaborate with AI technology. If your friends are already on it, that's the point.

The Pattern (since 2017) is personality-first. Long readings about who you are and how you bond, timing cycles, audio episodes and a dating feature called Connect. Go Deeper+ is $14.99 a month or $83.99 a year. It speaks in its own language rather than showing chart technique.

CHANI (since 2020) is reflective. Daily horoscopes, a meditation matched to the day, a weekly podcast, courses and an audio library. $11.99 a month or $107.99 a year. Its listing says plainly it's made by real astrologers, not AI.

So: friends and notifications, Co-Star. Depth about your patterns, The Pattern. Ritual and audio, CHANI. None of them is "the best" in a vacuum.

For chart nerds

If you want the actual technique

  • Can I change the house system?
  • Does it show the chart wheel, or only text?
  • Can I add a friend who doesn't use the app?

Once you know your big three, you may want more than a daily blurb.

TimePassages has been around since 2012, the oldest app here. Its listing covers synastry and composite charts, transits and progressions, with single charts like solar arc directions at $0.99. It's the cheapest yearly plan at $59.99.

Shymea (ours, released September 2026) lists the widest spread in this table: 8 of the 10 features we tracked. Two of them no other listing here describes: horary (question) astrology and astrocartography and relocation. Its listing says AI answers draw on 230+ chart factors, horary is judged by William Lilly's classical rules with the first question free, and astrocartography scans 390 cities. It's also brand new, with the shortest track record here, and has no audio library or live advisors.

  1. TimePassages · $59.99 a year

    2/2 in the listing.

Fair warning: It is a chart tool first: no chat, no audio, and the readings are written text rather than a conversation. It is also the cheapest yearly plan here. App Store listing

  2. The Pattern · $83.99 a year

    2/2 in the listing.

Fair warning: It uses its own plain-language framing rather than showing chart technique, which suits some people and frustrates others. It does not describe a daily horoscope in the usual sense. App Store listing

  3. Shymea · ours · $89.99 a year

    2/2 in the listing.

Fair warning: It is the newest app here (released September 2026), so it has the shortest track record. There are no live human advisors and no audio library. App Store listing

  4. CHANI · $107.99 a year

    2/2 in the listing.

Fair warning: The listing says it is made by real astrologers and not AI, so there is no chat. It is the priciest yearly plan in this table. App Store listing

  5. Co-Star · $107.88 a year at the monthly price

1/2 in the listing. Not described: Transits and timing.

Fair warning: The listing shows a monthly Pro-Star plan only, so the yearly figure here is 12 months at that price. Its 'Ask the stars' questions are sold in packs. App Store listing

  6. Nebula · yearly price not listed

1/2 in the listing. Not described: Transits and timing.

Fair warning: Its advisor chat is paid from a balance, so costs depend on how much you use it. The listing does not show the billing period for each plan, so we leave the yearly cost blank. App Store listing

What you get for free

All six are free to download. Free tiers usually give you your chart and a daily reading, then lock forecasts, extra charts or questions. TimePassages's listing says the birth chart and daily horoscope are free; Shymea gives you your first horary question free. Apps vs live advisors

Nebula works differently: its listing offers live chat with advisors, plus tarot and palm readings, paid from a balance. That suits people who want a person on the other end. Costs scale with how long you chat, so set a limit before you start.

Quick answers

What is the best astrology app in 2026?

It depends on what you want. From the App Store listings (checked October 2026): Co-Star for friends and daily notifications, The Pattern for personality depth, CHANI for meditation and audio, TimePassages for chart technique at the lowest yearly price ($59.99), Nebula for live advisors, and Shymea (our app) for AI questions, horary and astrocartography in one place.

What is the most accurate astrology app?

For planet positions, serious apps agree, because they use modern ephemerides. Differences almost always come from the birth time, time zone or house system you choose. No app can measure the accuracy of interpretations, so be wary of any that claims a percentage.

Is Co-Star or CHANI better?

They do different jobs. Co-Star is social, with friend charts and push notifications, and Pro-Star at $8.99 a month. CHANI is reflective, with meditations, a podcast and courses, at $11.99 a month or $107.99 a year, and says it uses no AI.

Co-Star vs The Pattern: which is more accurate?

Both calculate your chart from the same astronomy, so placements should match if you enter the same birth data. They differ in style: Co-Star gives short daily lines, The Pattern gives long personality readings. Pick the voice that helps you reflect.

Which astrology app is free?

All six here are free to download with paid upgrades. For a full chart with no account at all, Shymea's website has a free birth chart calculator with no sign-up.

How much does The Pattern cost?

Its App Store listing (checked October 2026) shows Go Deeper+ at $14.99 a month, $29.99 a quarter or $83.99 a year, with extra profile slots and Connect+ sold separately.

Is Shymea's comparison biased?

Shymea is our app, so treat us as an interested party. That's why this page uses only facts copied from public App Store listings, links each one, and contains no ratings or scores we made up.

What will the best astrology app be in 2027?

Prices and features change with app updates. We will recheck every listing and update the date on this page; until then, use the picker above with the features you care about.
