Mercury retrograde in Cancer, and Mars finally clears its shadow
Mars has been in its retrograde cycle, shadow included, since November 2026. It finally clears the post-retrograde shadow on June 8, back at 10°26′ Virgo where it first stood still in January.
Mercury, meanwhile, has been in its pre-retrograde shadow since May 26. It stations on June 10 in Cancer and backs into Gemini before turning direct. Traditional electional writing treats a retrograde Mercury as a poor time for contracts and agreements, and marriage is the most personal contract there is. That is the reasoning behind the Avoid tier, not a superstition about bad luck.
