Good news for the number people. Wednesday, July 7, 2027, the date that will fill wedding forums, rates Good in our calendar. The Moon is a thin crescent in Virgo, about 16% lit, and its next aspect is a sextile to Venus. Mercury is direct. It is one of July's three Good days.
The others are Monday, July 5 and Tuesday, July 6, when the Moon in Leo is heading for a conjunction with Jupiter. All three sit in the few days after Mercury stations direct on July 4 at 27°28′ Gemini and the new moon on July 4 at 11°57′ Cancer. Mercury is still in its post-retrograde shadow until July 19, which shaves a few points.
The middle of the month is harder. A penumbral lunar eclipse on July 18 at 25°58′ Capricorn puts July 16 to 21 in Avoid. Then, as the Moon wanes, the end of the month leans into the next eclipse, the total solar eclipse of August 2, which puts July 30 and 31 in Avoid too.
Venus enters Cancer on July 3 and Leo on July 27. Mars enters Libra, Venus's sign, on July 15.

The sky this month
Two eclipses frame the second half of summer

Eclipse seasons arrive about every six months. 2027's second one starts with the penumbral lunar eclipse on July 18, continues with the total solar eclipse on August 2 and ends with another penumbral lunar eclipse on August 17. Three eclipses in a month is a lot of lunar drama, at least in the astrological sense.
In practice, a penumbral eclipse is a slight dimming of the full moon that most people would not notice. The tradition treats it as an eclipse all the same, so we keep the three-day buffer.
US Independence Day weekend, July 3 to 5, sits right on Mercury's direct station. July 3 rates Avoid because the station happens on July 4; by July 5 the sky is clearer.
