Thaw season: still water, and a month with more void hours than any other in 2027.

If any month of 2027 deserves a planner with a pencil, it is March. It holds more total void-of-course hours than any other month of the year, and one window around the equinox stretches for almost two days.
That long one begins in Virgo. The Moon opposes Mercury, then makes no further contact before entering Libra, and the Sun crosses into Aries during that pause. So the astronomical start of spring arrives while the Moon is void. Some people like that: a quiet threshold rather than a loud one. Treat the equinox weekend as a season of closing out winter, and start your spring plans once the Moon is in Libra.
The Full Moon in Libra comes right after. Libra loves a fair negotiation, so once the Moon is out of its void and making aspects again, it is a nice window for the conversations you put off all winter. The month's shortest void, in Gemini, is only a few hours long, a small gap rather than a wall.

1 of 2 March lunations (the New Moon at 17°35′ Pisces on Mon Mar 8 · 09:29 UTC, the Full Moon at 1°35′ Libra on Mon Mar 22 · 10:43 UTC) lands inside a void.

Mars runs the month
Mars closes five of March's fourteen voids, and four of them are trines or squares. Trines are the most common last aspect this month, six of fourteen, which is the most of any month in the year.
Two windows begin with only one aspect in the sign. On March 8 the Moon reaches its New Moon conjunction with the Sun in Pisces at 09:29 UTC, and that conjunction is also its last contact before Aries, so the void starts at the exact minute of the lunation. On March 20 the Moon opposes Mercury from Virgo with no other contact in the sign, and the void lasts almost forty-seven hours.
No March void is shorter than four hours. Seven of them pass twelve hours, and three pass a full day. That is why March tops the year for total void time: not one giant window, but a steady run of long ones. Saturn closes two, both squares from Capricorn, on the 3rd and the 30th.

March: when to wait, when to go

Try this today
- Do your spring clean during the long Virgo void: it is very on-brand.
- Hold the season-opening plan until the Moon reaches Libra.
- Count the void hours in your own working week with the checker.
Cross out the Virgo-to-Libra window around the equinox first. That leaves a busy first fortnight and a cleaner final week. March's New Moon in Pisces sits early in the month, a soft starting point outside the long void.
Count the weekends. The Pisces void opens on Monday, March 8, at the minute of the New Moon and lasts about a day. The one that swallows a whole weekend is the Virgo void, from Saturday, March 20, to Monday the 22nd. A Saturday spent sorting cupboards fits the Virgo window well. Anything you need answered by Monday morning is better sent on Friday.

Worth knowing
Why so many void hours in March? Several of the Moon's last contacts come early in their signs, which leaves long empty stretches before the next ingress. It is geometry, not a curse.

Quick answers
Is the Moon void of course on the spring equinox 2027?
Yes. The Sun enters Aries during the long Virgo void, which started with the Moon's opposition to Mercury and lasts until the Moon enters Libra.
Why does March 2027 have so many void of course hours?
The Moon makes its last aspect early in several signs, so the gaps before the next sign are long. The total is computed from the table, not estimated.
Does the March 2027 New Moon start a void?
Yes. The Moon's conjunction with the Sun at 09:29 UTC on March 8 is also its last aspect in Pisces, so the void begins at the exact minute of the New Moon. It lasts about 23 and a half hours, until the Moon enters Aries on the morning of the 9th.
