Astro-Databank: The WeekndWhy your rising sign differs between apps
On February 16, 2022, The Weeknd shared a birthday text from his mother on Twitter. It reads: "February 16 @ 2:45 pm the Star is born." Astro-Databank uses it and rates it A, a parent's memory.
We ran 2:45 PM EST on February 16, 1990 in Toronto. The ascendant was at 23°30′ Cancer, with about half an hour of room after and nearly two hours before, so a rounded "2:45" does not threaten the sign.
The Sun at 27°53′ Aquarius is late in the sign but still a couple of days short of Pisces. The Moon is at 17°26′ Scorpio.

- Born in 1989 or 1990? Run your date below; you probably share his Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn.
The Aquarius Sun sits alone in the eighth house, with Mercury in Aquarius beside it. Aquarius is the outsider sign: inventive, a little detached, happiest when doing it differently. The eighth house is intensity, secrecy and transformation. A cool sign in a deep house.
The Scorpio Moon is in the fifth house of performance and romance, and it sits on Pluto, a third of a degree from exact. Scorpio is the Moon's hardest sign in the old texts, and Pluto doubles the depth. The tradition reads Moon-Pluto as emotions that run to extremes and a fascination with the dark.
Cancer rising with Jupiter in Cancer in the first house, retrograde, is a warm, protective front door. The Moon rules the chart, so that Scorpio Moon is the planet astrologers would read first.

Five planets in Capricorn, opposite his rising sign
Here is the structural surprise: Venus, Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are all in Capricorn, a five-planet stellium in the seventh house, directly across from his Cancer ascendant. Saturn, Uranus and Neptune were together in Capricorn in 1989-90, so plenty of people his age share those. Venus and Mars joining them is personal.
Mars conjunct Neptune, under half a degree, is the tightest pair in the stack. Astrologers read Mars-Neptune as drive that works through atmosphere, image and illusion. Venus conjunct Saturn adds a serious, guarded tone to love songs.
The chart has five earth planets and no fire. His first Saturn return was exact on December 28, 2019, weeks after "Blinding Lights" came out in November 2019. Timing, not causation.
