In the traditional scheme of dignities that runs back to Ptolemy, Saturn is exalted in Libra and in its fall in Aries, the opposite sign. Aries is the fast, first-strike sign ruled by Mars. Saturn is slow, careful and patient. Put them together and astrologers describe a push-pull: courage that has to learn patience, patience that has to learn courage.
