You typed the question at 1 a.m., probably after a wedding, a breakup or a cousin's engagement post. Fair. It is one of the oldest questions people have brought to astrologers.
Search it and most results are paid Vedic readings or quizzes that promise an exact age. We are going to do it differently: the Western method, shown openly, computed from real planetary positions, with nothing to buy.
The tradition looks at your 7th house, the house of partners, open agreements and marriage since Hellenistic times (House, astrology). Ptolemy gave marriage its own chapter in Book IV of the Tetrabiblos, reading it mainly from the Moon and the Sun, with Venus (Tetrabiblos IV). Later astrologers such as William Lilly, in Christian Astrology (1647), leaned harder on the 7th house and its ruler (William Lilly).
Then it asks when that house gets lit up. Four timers do most of the work:
- Jupiter passing through your 7th house, about once every 12 years.
- Saturn passing through your 7th, about once every 29 years.
- Profection years, when your age points at the 7th house: ages 6, 18, 30, 42, 54.
- The progressed Moon moving through your 7th, roughly two and a half years, about once every 27 years.
When two or three of these overlap, astrologers call it a strong window. That is the whole method. It is a lens for reflection, not a promise, and the calculator below shows its working.
The sky behind it
Houses here are whole-sign: the rising sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on, so the 7th is always the sign opposite your rising. Planet positions are geocentric apparent longitudes on the true ecliptic of date (tropical zodiac), computed from NASA JPL's DE442 ephemeris.

Jupiter takes about 11.86 years to circle the Sun (NASA), so it spends roughly a year in each sign and visits your 7th house about once every 12 years.
Astrologers read Jupiter as growth, generosity and open doors. In the 7th, that is traditionally the year the topic of partnership gets bigger: you meet people, a relationship deepens, someone asks the question, or you finally say what you want.
Here is who has it, computed:
- Aquarius rising: Jupiter in Leo, June 30, 2026 to July 26, 2027 (391 days).
- Pisces rising: Jupiter in Virgo, July 26, 2027 to August 24, 2028.
- Aries rising: Jupiter in Libra, August 24, 2028 to September 24, 2029.
Some signs get Jupiter twice in this stretch, because Jupiter's retrograde loops carry it back and forth over a sign boundary. Between 2026 and 2040, Aries, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces rising each get split windows. The full table is further down.
A Jupiter year is not a wedding guarantee. It is more like a season when the door is propped open. Whether you walk through is up to you.

Jupiter enters Virgo on July 26, 2027 and Libra on August 24, 2028 (UTC). Sign entries come from a search of Jupiter's ecliptic longitude at one-day steps refined to the second, and include retrograde re-entries.

Saturn in your 7th: the slow, serious version, Libra rising until 2028

- If Saturn is in your 7th, write down the one non-negotiable you want in a partnership. Saturn likes clear terms.
- If your Saturn return is near, ask what you would build if you knew it had to last ten years.
Saturn takes about 29.5 years to orbit the Sun (NASA), so it spends two to three years in each sign. When it crosses your 7th house, the tradition reads it as the commitment chapter: defining the relationship, making it official, or ending something that was never going to last.
People sometimes fear Saturn here. They do not need to. Saturn is the planet of structure, and a marriage is a structure. The tradition's flavour for this transit is grown-up rather than dreamy: fewer fireworks, more paperwork, a partner who shows up. That is a reading, not data, so take it as a mood.
Computed now: Saturn is in Aries from February 14, 2026 to April 13, 2028, which is the 7th house for Libra rising. Then it moves into Taurus until June 1, 2030, the 7th house for Scorpio rising.
Because Saturn is slow, not every rising sign gets it in the 7th between 2026 and 2040: Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo rising do not. Those signs had or will have their Saturn-in-7th chapter outside this window.
The famous Saturn return, when Saturn comes back to where it was at your birth around ages 29 to 30, is also linked to big life decisions, including marriage. That is a different timer from Saturn in the 7th, and both can be true at once.

Why so many people get married around 30 (the profection answer)

- Take your age, divide by 12 and look at the remainder. Add 1: that is your profection house this year.
- If you are 29 now, your 7th-house year starts on your 30th birthday. Put it in your calendar for fun.
This is the oldest timer on the page and the easiest to check. Annual profections come from Hellenistic astrology; Vettius Valens used them in his Anthology in the 2nd century (Vettius Valens).
The rule: at birth, your age points at the 1st house. Each birthday it moves one house on. So the year after your 6th birthday points at the 7th house, and so does the year after your 18th, 30th, 42nd and 54th.
That age-30 year is why astrologers joke that the chart has a built-in "so, are you two getting married?" season. It also lines up, roughly, with real life: the 2024 American Community Survey puts the median age at first marriage in the US at 30.8 for men and 28.8 for women (NCFMR, BGSU). That overlap is a coincidence of the calendar, not evidence for astrology, but it is fun.
Profections also name a lord of the year: the planet that rules the sign your age points at. When that is Venus (your age points at Taurus or Libra), astrologers read it as a year where love and pleasure get the microphone. The calculator flags those years too.

The progressed Moon: your two-and-a-half-year relationship mood

- When the progressed Moon changes sign, people often notice a shift in what they want. Check whether your last change matched a change in your love life.
Secondary progressions are a modern favourite: each day after your birth stands for a year of your life. Your chart on day 30 after birth describes the mood of age 30.
The Moon moves fast, about 12 to 15 degrees a day, so in a progressed chart it moves about one sign every two and a half years and circles the whole chart in about 27 years. When the progressed Moon crosses your 7th house, astrologers read a stretch where partnership is on your mind: who you want, what you need, who you are with someone else.
This one needs your birth date and, ideally, your birth time, which is why it lives inside the calculator. Without a time, the progressed Moon can be several degrees off, which shifts its sign changes by months. The calculator tells you when that applies.

The tradition reads the partner from three places, and the calculator shows all of them:
The sign on your 7th house (your Descendant). This is the quality you tend to look for in other people, often the one you are less comfortable showing yourself. Aries rising, for example, has Libra on the 7th: a bold person drawn to calm, fair, charming partners.
The ruler of that sign and where it sits. If Mars rules your 7th and sits in your 10th, the tradition says partners may come through work or public life. If it sits in your 11th, through friends. It is a hint about where, which is half the fun.
Your Venus sign. Venus is how you love and what feels like love to you. Venus in Taurus wants slow and steady. Venus in Aquarius wants a friend with a long leash.
Partner descriptions in astrology are archetypes. They describe a mood, not a résumé, so hold them lightly. If someone real makes you feel safe and seen and they do not match your Descendant, the Descendant loses.

At what age will I get married, astrologically?
There is no fixed astrological age. The ages astrologers point to most often are 30 (a 7th-house profection year for everyone), the late twenties around the first Saturn return, and whichever years Jupiter crosses your 7th, which comes round about every 12 years. For comparison, the 2024 American Community Survey puts the median age at first marriage at 30.8 for men and 28.8 for women in the US.
Will I ever get married? What does my chart say?
No placement in a birth chart forbids marriage. An empty 7th house just means no planet sat there at your birth; every chart still has a 7th house with a sign and a ruler. Saturn there is read as commitment that takes its time, not as a no. Whether and when you marry is your choice, and plenty of happy people never do.
Is there a future spouse astrology calculator that shows what my partner will be like?
The calculator above reads the three things the Western tradition uses for the partner: the sign on your 7th house (your Descendant), where the ruler of that sign sits, and your Venus sign. It needs a birth time for the 7th house; without one it falls back to a solar chart and says so. It describes a type of person the tradition associates with your chart, not a specific person.
Will I get married in 2026 or 2027?
In 2026 and 2027 the slow planets touch these risings' 7th houses: Jupiter in Leo (Aquarius rising) until July 26, 2027, then Jupiter in Virgo (Pisces rising) until August 24, 2028; Saturn in Aries (Libra rising) until April 13, 2028. The 2027 eclipses fall on the Leo-Aquarius and Virgo-Pisces and Cancer-Capricorn axes. If none of those are yours, a profection or progressed-Moon window might be; the calculator checks all of them.
Is Jupiter in the 7th house a sign of marriage?
It is the transit astrologers mention first. Jupiter is read as growth and opportunity, so its year in your 7th is traditionally a time when partnerships start, deepen or get formal. Many people pass a Jupiter-in-7th year without marrying, and many marry in other years. Treat it as a season when the topic tends to come up.
How accurate is astrology for predicting marriage?

Is this Vedic or Western astrology?
Western: tropical zodiac and whole-sign houses, with Hellenistic profections and modern secondary progressions. Vedic marriage timing uses the sidereal zodiac and dasha periods, so its dates differ. Neither method should cost you money to see your own chart.
