Which house is each of your planets in?
Birth date, time and place in. All ten planets out, each with its house in Placidus and in Whole Sign, so you can see where the systems agree and where a planet sits on the line.

At a glance
To know what house your Venus, Sun or Moon is in, you need three things: birth date, birth time and birth place. Enter them below and every planet gets its house in two systems, linked to its meaning.

How it works
What house is my Venus in? Three inputs and you'll know

People usually come here with one planet in mind. Maybe a friend said "your Venus is in the 8th, that explains a lot" and you want to check. Maybe TikTok told you Saturn in the 7th means a late marriage and you would like a second opinion. Fair.
The calculator works out where each planet was along the zodiac at your birth (the same chart engine as our free birth chart), then lays the twelve houses over it for your exact time and place. You get every planet, not just the one you were curious about.
Rows shaded lilac are planets where Placidus and Whole Sign pick different houses. That happens a lot, and it is useful information, not an error: it tells you that planet sits near a house line in one of the systems.
Worked example
A sample chart, start to finish

Here is the sample chart the "try it" button loads: 1 Jan 2000, 12:00 GMT, London. It is a midday birth, so the Sun is near the top of the chart, in the 10th house, which is what the Sun-clock rule predicts.
Placidus and Whole Sign agree on 4 of its ten planets. Where they differ, look at the degree: a planet in the first or last few degrees of a sign is the one most likely to switch houses between systems.
The sky behind it
| Planet | Position | Placidus | Whole Sign | Systems |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sun | 10°22′ Capricorn | 10th | 10th | Agree |
| Moon | 13°19′ Scorpio | 7th | 8th | Differ |
| Mercury | 1°53′ Capricorn | 9th | 10th | Differ |
| Venus | 1°33′ Sagittarius | 8th | 9th | Differ |
| Mars | 27°57′ Aquarius | 12th | 11th | Differ |
| Jupiter | 25°15′ Aries | 1st | 1st | Agree |
| Saturn | 10°23′ Taurus | 1st | 2nd | Differ |
| Uranus | 14°48′ Aquarius | 11th | 11th | Agree |
| Neptune | 3°11′ Aquarius | 11th | 11th | Agree |
| Pluto | 11°27′ Sagittarius | 8th | 9th | Differ |
How far to trust it
Which planets are most likely to switch houses?

Every planet is equally exposed to a birth time error, because it is the houses that move, not the planet. In our 150,000 computed births, a one-hour error moved roughly half of all placements, whatever the planet. What differs a little is how often the two house systems agree, shown in the table.
So if your birth time came from a rounded hospital record, take any planet within a couple of degrees of a cusp as a blend of both houses. If your time is exact to the minute, you can lean on the result much harder.
The sky behind it
| Planet | Same house in Whole Sign | Moves with a 1-hour time error |
|---|---|---|
| Sun | 47.0% | 50.2% |
| Moon | 46.9% | 50.2% |
| Mercury | 47.3% | 50.1% |
| Venus | 47.1% | 50.1% |
| Mars | 47.2% | 50.1% |
| Jupiter | 42.2% | 50.3% |
| Saturn | 47.5% | 50.2% |
| Uranus | 46.9% | 50.1% |
| Neptune | 46.3% | 50.0% |
| Pluto | 44.9% | 50.1% |

Quick answers
What house is my Venus in?
Enter your birth date, time and place in the calculator above. It shows Venus's house in Placidus and Whole Sign, and links to the meaning page for that house.
How do I find what house my planets are in?
You need your birth time and place as well as your date. The houses are drawn from the horizon at that moment, so the same date can give very different houses a few hours apart.
Why does my Sun show a different house in Whole Sign?
Whole Sign makes each house exactly one sign, starting from your rising sign. Placidus uses unequal houses based on time. A Sun near a sign or house boundary often lands in different houses in the two systems.
Is this calculator free?
Yes. No account and no sign-up.
What if I don't know my birth time?
You will get solar houses, which treat your Sun sign as the 1st house. They are a stand-in, not your real houses. Even a rough time helps a lot.
What does 'from the cusp' mean in my results?
It means the planet is within 2 degrees of a house line. A few minutes' error in your birth time could move it, so read the page for the neighbouring house too.
