Uranus in Gemini, 2025 to 2033: every date, and the house it changes for your rising sign.

Uranus is in Gemini three times in this cycle, and only the middle stay is long. The first visit, from 7 July to 8 November 2025, lasted 124 days before the yearly retrograde carried the planet back over 0° into Taurus. The main stay began on 26 April 2026 and runs for 2,291 days, to 3 August 2032. A final 161-day pass, from 12 December 2032 to 22 May 2033, covers the last degrees again before Uranus settles in Cancer. Added up, that is 2,576 days in the sign, about seven years, spread across almost eight calendar years.

The times in the table are UTC. The re-entry of 26 April 2026 happened at 00:51 UTC, which was still the evening of 25 April in New York and Los Angeles, so American calendars and some websites give the 25th. Both are right for their time zone. The same thing applies to the other dates here: a UTC time before about 08:00 is usually the previous day somewhere in the Americas, and a time after about 14:00 is often the next day in Sydney.

As of mid-October 2026 Uranus is retrograde: it turned on 10 September 2026 at 5°42′ Gemini, recrosses 5° on 22 October, and turns direct on 8 February 2027 at 1°41′. From there it moves forward to a station at 9°57′ in September 2027. The pattern repeats every year: about five months of backward motion, then a longer forward run that gains roughly four and a half degrees on the previous year.

Gemini is Mercury's sign: speech, writing, trade, short trips, siblings, schooling and the traffic of ordinary information. Uranus is the planet astrologers read as abrupt change, invention and the break with the way things were done. Put together, the transit is read as a long period in which the tools for talking, learning and moving around are replaced, and in which the people who use them are forced to adjust their habits faster than they would choose.

That is a reading of a sign, and it describes a climate rather than predicting a headline. Astrology cannot tell you which device or law or school reform will arrive between 2026 and 2033. What it does claim is a timetable: the years when that sort of change is most likely to be felt, and, through your rising sign, the part of your own life where it tends to land. Uranus has no traditional dignity in Gemini, and the usual modern scheme, which exalts it in Scorpio and puts its fall in Taurus, gives it none there either. So the sign does not weaken or strengthen the planet; it supplies the subject matter. Mercury, as ruler of Gemini, disposits the transit, which is why the condition of your natal Mercury tells you more about how this period feels than your Sun sign does.

These are the 35 exact moments of the transit: six ingresses, sixteen stations and thirteen crossings of a 5° mark. Stations are given with the degree where Uranus stood still. A station is a soft event; the planet barely moves for weeks either side of it, so the date matters less than the degree, and pages on this site round station times to the day.

Read the stations in pairs. Each retrograde station is the furthest point Uranus reaches that year, and the next direct station shows how far it falls back. The gap between them is about four degrees, and those four degrees are the ones that get crossed three times: once forward, once backward, once forward again.

If you know the degree of a planet or your Ascendant, this table gives the dates Uranus stands on the same degree of Gemini. Most degrees have three exact passes. Two have one: 10°, because the 2027 retrograde station falls at 9°57′ and turns back short of it, and 23°, because the 2032 direct station falls at 23°12′.

A natal point in Gemini is conjoined on those dates. A point at the same degree of another sign receives the aspect named in the second table: the same degree of Virgo or Pisces is squared, of Sagittarius opposed, of Libra or Aquarius trined. Take a Mercury at 15° Virgo. Uranus reaches 15° Gemini first on 16 June 2029, comes back to it on 17 January 2030 and makes the last pass on 26 March 2030. An older article on this site put that square in 2027–2028, which was wrong: Uranus does not reach 10° Gemini until 30 May 2028, or 15° until June 2029.

The usual working orb for a transit from Uranus is one or two degrees, which at this speed means the influence of each pass is spread over a few weeks, and the whole three-pass sequence for one degree over nine or ten months.

Counting whole-sign houses, Gemini is one house for each rising sign from start to finish, so the whole seven years land in a single area of life. Uranus spent 2019 to 2026 in Taurus, the house before, which is why most rising signs feel this transit as the next chapter of a change that was already under way.

Uranus takes about 84 years to go round the zodiac, so each Gemini period is a lifetime from the last. The three before this one are often cited, and the citations are often loose. Checked against DE442, here is what the positions show.

1775 to 1781. Uranus entered Gemini for its main pass on 8 April 1775, eleven days before the fighting at Lexington and Concord opened the American War of Independence. It left on 12 July 1781, so the surrender at Yorktown that October came with Uranus in early Cancer. The same pass contains the night of 13 March 1781 when William Herschel, observing from Bath, saw the planet that would be named Uranus. It was at 24°27′ Gemini.

1859 to 1865. The main pass ran from 14 March 1859 to 27 June 1865, and the American Civil War sits entirely inside it, from Fort Sumter in April 1861 at 9°21′ to Appomattox in April 1865 at 26°00′. The telegraph, a Gemini kind of invention if anything is, spread through the same years and was used to run that war.

1942 to 1949. This is the claim most often overstated. When Germany invaded Poland in September 1939, Uranus was at 21°58′ Taurus. It touched Gemini from 7 August 1941 but slipped back on 5 October, so Pearl Harbor came with Uranus at 27°39′ Taurus. The main Gemini pass began on 15 May 1942. Uranus was in Gemini for the second half of the war, for Victory in Europe at 11°41′, and for the years of radar, the first electronic computers and the transistor that followed.

Three wars in three cycles is a small sample, and every one of those periods also held long stretches of ordinary life. Astrologers read these as coincidences of timing that carry a theme, not as proof that the planet caused anything.

People born from May 1942 to August 1948 (and in the two short windows either side) have their Uranus return, a full cycle completed at around 84, which few people live to see. Those born from November 1981 to February 1988 have the Uranus opposition, the transit associated with the restlessness of the early forties. Those born from late 2003 to May 2010 have their first Uranus square in their early twenties, and those born from 1962 to 1968 have the closing square in their early sixties. For its first three years Uranus in Gemini is in a supportive pattern with the two other outer planets. Neptune entered Aries in 2025 and Pluto has been in Aquarius since 2024, so Uranus in early Gemini sextiles Neptune and trines Pluto at the same time. The sextile is exact five times between August 2025 and June 2027, and the trine five times between July 2026 and May 2028, all but one of them within the first nine degrees of the signs involved.

Jupiter adds two shorter contacts. It squares Uranus from Virgo once, on 10 September 2027, five days before Uranus stations at 9°57′, so that week stands out in every chart. Then it opposes Uranus from Sagittarius three times in 2031, in January, June and October, the only Jupiter contact of the transit that repeats, and the one to mark if you have planets in late Gemini or late Sagittarius.
