The MBTI zodiac quiz: your letters, then your chart
Sixteen everyday questions give you four letters. Add your birth date and see them beside your chart's elements. A mirror, not a lab test.

Answer 16 quick questions for your four letters, then enter your birth date to compare them with your chart. Zodiac signs have no proven MBTI type, so this shows parallels, not predictions.

Before you start
How the quiz works

Try this today
- Take it once quickly, then again tomorrow. Letters that flip are the ones you sit in the middle of.
- Ask a close friend to answer the questions about you. Compare notes, kindly.
There are four preference pairs, and four questions for each.
E or I is about where you recharge: out with people, or on your own. S or N is about what information you trust first: concrete facts, or patterns and possibilities. T or F is about what leads when you decide: logic, or people and values. J or P is about how you like your days: settled and planned, or open and flexible.
Each question offers two everyday choices. Neither is better. Pick the one you would actually do, not the one you wish you did. Your result shows how many of the four questions leaned each way, so a 2 of 4 tells you that letter is a coin flip.
This is our own short self-check, not the official MBTI, which is a longer trademarked instrument. Think of it as a warm-up.
After the quiz
What the chart comparison shows, and what it does not

Try this today
- Look at the letter that was a close call. Does your chart lean one way on that pair? Does that feel true?
- Then check your Moon and rising with your birth time, which can change the picture a lot.
When you add your birth date, we place ten bodies in their tropical signs right in your browser and count your elements and modalities. Then we set each letter beside one part of the chart.
E or I beside Fire and Air. Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos (book I, chapter 12) groups the Fire and Air signs as masculine and Earth and Water as feminine; modern astrologers say "active" and "receptive." S or N beside Earth, the element tied to the concrete. T or F beside Air and Water, read as detached reasoning and feeling. J or P beside modality, with Fixed and Cardinal read as steady and decisive, Mutable as flexible.
These four pairings are an analogy we chose so the comparison is concrete. They are not a finding. We know of no peer-reviewed study showing that charts predict MBTI letters, and astrology did not beat chance in Shawn Carlson's 1985 Nature test.
So read the result as a conversation between two languages. Where they agree, enjoy it. Where they disagree, that is often the more interesting thing to think about.
Computed
Why we count ten bodies, not one sign

A Sun-sign MBTI table treats you as one sign. Your chart is ten bodies spread across the zodiac.
We checked every day from 1960 to 2009, 18,263 birth dates, with the JPL DE442 ephemeris. The Sun's element was the clear leader in only 39.8% of charts and was outnumbered outright in 38.2%. The Moon shared the Sun's sign on just 8.2% of days.
That is why the quiz compares your letters to your whole element count. If you are going to hold two systems side by side, it should at least be the whole of one of them.
The sky behind it
Method: skyfield + JPL DE442, geocentric apparent, tropical, one sample per day at 12:00 UTC. The in-browser count uses astronomy-engine at 12:00 UTC on the date you enter.

Sixteen questions, four letters
Tap the answer that fits you best for each question. When all sixteen are done you will see your letters and how strong each lean is. Then add your birth date to see them beside your chart.
0 of 16 answered
Answer all 16 to see your four letters. There are no right answers, only the one that sounds like a normal Tuesday for you.

Shorter reads. Each opens in place.
A kind note
Use letters and signs as conversation, not verdicts
Four letters and a Sun sign are fun shorthand for a group chat. They are a red flag as a reason to hire, reject or ghost someone. People are bigger than both systems, and most personality research prefers the Big Five, which measures traits on a scale.

The four pairs and the chart analogy we use
Each MBTI pair and the part of the chart we set beside it. These are analogies, not measured links.
| Pair | Question it asks | Chart analogy | Traditional basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| E / I | Where do you recharge? | Fire + Air count | Ptolemy's masculine/feminine signs |
| S / N | What information do you trust? | Earth count | Earth as the practical element |
| T / F | What leads your decisions? | Air vs Water | Air as intellect, Water as feeling |
| J / P | How do you like your days? | Fixed + Cardinal vs Mutable | Modalities: steady, initiating, adaptable |
| Sun sign | Element | Clear #1 |
|---|---|---|
| Aries | Fire | 39.4% |
| Taurus | Earth | 43.8% |
| Gemini | Air | 37.8% |
| Cancer | Water | 33.7% |
| Leo | Fire | 39.4% |

| Sagittarius | Fire | 37.7% |
| Capricorn | Earth | 47.3% |
| Aquarius | Air | 41.5% |

Quick answers
Is this the official MBTI test?
No. This is our own short 16-question self-check on the same four preference pairs. The official Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a longer, trademarked assessment sold by The Myers-Briggs Company. Use this one for fun and reflection.
What MBTI is my zodiac sign?
Your sign does not have one. No study we know of shows a sign predicting a type. This quiz flips the question around: find your letters from your answers, then see how they sit next to your actual chart.
How do you compare my type with my chart?
We count the elements and modalities of ten bodies at your birth date, then set each letter beside one part of the chart, for example E or I beside the Fire and Air (traditionally 'active') count. These pairings are an analogy we chose, clearly labelled, not a scientific mapping.
Why did I get a different type than last time?
That is common with type tests. Many of us sit near the middle on at least one pair, so a few answers can flip a letter. The quiz shows how strong each lean is, out of four questions per pair, so you can see which letters are close calls.
Do I need my birth time?
Not for this quiz. We use the planets at 12:00 UTC on your birth date, which is accurate for everything except, sometimes, the Moon. If the Moon changed sign that day we tell you. Your rising sign does need a time and place.
Which MBTI types are most common for each zodiac sign in 2026?
Nobody has published reliable data on that, and we will not invent it. Sites that list 'most common types per sign' are matching stereotypes. If you see a percentage without a named, published study behind it, treat it as decoration.
