The Pluto in Aquarius generation is being born right now
Pluto settled into Aquarius on November 19, 2024 and stays until January 19, 2044. The last time it did this, Uranus was discovered and the hot-air balloon took off. Here is every date, computed.

The ingress
Pluto took three tries to get into Aquarius

Try this today
- Check the month you were born against the three windows in the glance card. 2023 and 2024 babies are the ones who need it.
- Find your rising sign, then jump to your house guide below. That is where this transit gets personal.
Pluto does not barge in. It knocked on Aquarius on March 23, 2023, backed out on June 11, 2023, came back on January 21, 2024, retreated again on September 1, 2024, and finally moved in for good on November 19, 2024.
That stutter is normal for a slow planet. From Earth, Pluto loops backward for about five months every year, so the edge of a sign gets crossed three times before it sticks. The same thing happens on the way out: Pluto first touches Pisces on March 9, 2043, slips back into the last degree of Aquarius on September 1, 2043, and leaves for good on January 19, 2044.
So when people say "Pluto in Aquarius 2024 to 2044", they mean the settled stay: about 19.2 years. If you were born in 2023, you might be in the club or just outside it, depending on the month.
Pluto stationed direct on October 16, 2026 at 3°04′ Aquarius. Right now it sits near 3°04′ Aquarius, inching forward again.
The sky behind it
Ingresses and stations found with Skyfield's discrete search on JPL DE442: geocentric apparent longitude, true ecliptic and equinox of date, tropical zodiac. Times are UTC and accurate to the minute; Pluto moves so slowly near a station that a few minutes of difference between ephemerides is normal.
Who is in it
Who counts as the Pluto in Aquarius generation?

Try this today
- Run the finder below on your own birthday and on a parent's. Most families span two or three Pluto signs.
- For a 2026 baby, read the generational placements page too: Neptune and Uranus change signs that year as well.
Anyone born while Pluto is in Aquarius. In practice, that is most kids born from 2024 to early 2044, plus the spring 2023 and early 2024 babies who caught the first two windows. The oldest members are about 3 years old as of this page.
Astrologers file Pluto under "generational" because everyone born in a 20-year stretch shares the sign. Your Pluto sign says something about the era you grew up in, not about you alone. Pluto in Capricorn kids (roughly November 27, 2008 to 2024) arrived as old institutions were tested; Pluto in Aquarius kids arrive as the questions move to networks, groups and who gets a say.
Aquarius is the sign of the crowd, the friend group, the experiment and the outsider who turns out to be early. In the tradition its ruler is Saturn; modern astrologers add Uranus. Expect the generation story to be written about collective tools, community and independence, the same themes astrologers wrote for the 1770s cohort.
There are no Pluto in Aquarius celebrities yet in the usual sense. The generation is still in diapers and preschool. The famous examples are all from the last round, and they are a wild bunch.
1777 to 1798
The last time Pluto was in Aquarius

Try this today
- Pick one invention from 1777 to 1798 and its modern cousin. Balloon and drone, vaccine and mRNA. Notice how the theme rhymes but the details do not.
Pluto first entered Aquarius on April 4, 1777, settled on December 1, 1778, and left for good on December 26, 1798. That is 246 years before its 2023 return, one full lap of the zodiac.
What happened while Pluto was in Aquarius last time is a matter of record. On March 13, 1781, William Herschel found a new planet, Uranus, with Pluto at 6°09′ Aquarius. The Montgolfier brothers flew people in a hot-air balloon in 1783. The US Constitution was signed in 1787, the Bastille fell in 1789, the Haitian Revolution began in 1791, and Edward Jenner gave his first smallpox vaccination in 1796. The table further down has Pluto's exact degree on each date.
Astrologers lean on that list a lot. It is a fair description of the decades, but it is history, not a forecast: the 2020s are not the 1780s, and no ephemeris can tell you which events will be remembered. Read it as a mood board, not a script.
The last generation
Pluto in Aquarius celebrities, the 18th-century edition

If you want famous people with Pluto in Aquarius, you have to go back to the last round. Using birth dates from Encyclopaedia Britannica and Pluto's position at noon UTC, these all have it: Simón Bolívar (Jul 24, 1783, 9°00′ Aquarius); Lord Byron (Jan 22, 1788, 15°22′ Aquarius); Percy Bysshe Shelley (Aug 4, 1792, 22°36′ Aquarius); John Keats (Oct 31, 1795, 25°29′ Aquarius); Franz Schubert (Jan 31, 1797, 28°12′ Aquarius); Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (Aug 30, 1797, 29°10′ Aquarius); Carl Friedrich Gauss (Apr 30, 1777, 0°10′ Aquarius).
A Romantic-poets-and-revolutionaries lineup: Byron, Percy and Mary Shelley, Keats, plus Simón Bolívar and the composer Franz Schubert. The mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss was born on April 30, 1777, the very day Pluto stationed retrograde at 0°10′ Aquarius, so he sits right at the first degree.
For contrast, Jane Austen (1775) and Ludwig van Beethoven (1770) missed it: Pluto was still in Capricorn. We only use birth dates here, so we do not list anyone's rising sign or houses.
The retrograde rhythm
Why Pluto moves only about a degree and a half a year

Try this today
- If you know a placement between 0° and 6° Aquarius, the years 2024 to 2027 already hit it. Look back at what changed.
Pluto takes 248 years to go around the Sun, so from Earth it creeps. Each spring it stations retrograde, backs up about two and a half degrees over five months, then stations direct in the autumn and moves on. In 2026 that loop ran from May 6, 2026 to October 16, 2026. In 2027 it runs from May 8, 2027 to October 18, 2027.
The upshot: most degrees of Aquarius get touched by Pluto three times, and degrees near a station five times, across one to two years. If you have a planet or an angle at, say, 10° Aquarius, those dates are your personal headline years. The house pages have a finder that lists them for any degree.
Pluto in Aquarius 2026 is a quiet-looking year on the calendar: Pluto stays between about 3° and 6° of the sign. That is exactly why it is easy to miss. Slow is the point.

Capricorn to Aquarius to Pisces
Pluto entered Capricorn for good on November 27, 2008. It reaches Pisces in 2043-2044 and, by our computation, settles into Aries on February 23, 2068. So the generation after this one is the Pluto in Pisces kids, born roughly 2044 to 2068. Families will have all three in one house before long.
