Stellium in Aquarius: the cluster that belongs to the group
A stellium in Aquarius is three or more planets in Aquarius, the fixed air sign ruled by Saturn in the traditional scheme and by Uranus in the modern one. It concentrates a chart on groups, principles and systems. In 60,000 computed charts 7.2% have one, rising to 18.3% of people born in the 2000s.

How rare a stellium in Aquarius is
About 7.2% of charts have three or more planets in Aquarius; 1.90% have four or more. Counting only the Sun to Saturn it is 3.4%, and only the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars 1.9%.

Is an Aquarius stellium generational? The youngest cluster in the sample
Among people born in the 2000s, 18.3% have three or more planets in Aquarius, the highest rate any sign reaches in that decade, and the 1990s add 11.7%. Before 1990 the figure never rises above 5.0%. Of the generational sign stelliums, this is the one that belongs to people now in their twenties.
Two outer planets did it. Uranus visited Aquarius from 1 April to 9 June 1995, then stayed from 12 January 1996 to 10 March 2003, with a last spell from 15 September to 30 December 2003. Neptune arrived on 29 January 1998, stepped back into Capricorn from 23 August to 28 November 1998, and then stayed until 4 April 2011. The two shared the sign from 29 January to 23 August 1998, from 28 November 1998 to 10 March 2003, and from 15 September to 30 December 2003 (JPL DE442, UTC). A baby born then needed one personal planet in Aquarius for a stellium.
So the composition looks like no other sign's. 62.0% of the sample's Aquarius stelliums contain an outer planet and 37.1% contain two; Neptune is in 53.6% of them and Uranus in 45.5%. For one week, 29 January to 4 February 1998, Jupiter was in Aquarius with both, so for a baby born that week the Sun, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune made four before Mercury or Venus were even counted.
The 1990s figure starts before Uranus: Saturn was in Aquarius from 6 February 1991 to 28 January 1994, apart from a few weeks in mid-1993. The smaller 1960s bump is Saturn again, 3 January 1962 to 24 March 1964. And for the 2000s cohort the personal-planet rate is only 1.5%, so roughly one in twelve of that decade's Aquarius stelliums is three personal planets; the rest are a generation plus one or two of the person's own.
What a stellium in Aquarius concentrates: principle over preference
Aquarius is fixed air. Air works through ideas and the connections between people; fixed means an idea, once adopted, stays put. A cluster there gives someone who reasons their way to a position and then holds it against the room, including when it costs them. It is the person who keeps the residents' association spreadsheet, votes against a rule that would have suited them because it is unfair to the flat downstairs, and is warm with fifty people at once and oddly formal with one.
The group is the unit. Where most signs ask what a person wants, Aquarius asks what would be fair for everyone in the category, and the planets in the cluster pick up the habit. Venus there loves through friendship and shared causes. Mars fights for a principle more readily than for itself. Mercury builds systems, rotas and arguments. Opposite sits Leo, the sign of the single performer, and an Aquarius-heavy person often finds the spotlight faintly embarrassing even while running the event.
What it does not mean is eccentricity on demand. The rebel cliché comes from Uranus, the modern ruler, and it fits some Aquarius stelliums. But the traditional ruler is Saturn, and many Aquarius-heavy people are the ones who draft the club's constitution, keep the minutes and know the procedure better than the chair.
Three invented Aquarius charts: a group chat, a connector and a walkout
Start with someone born in the year 2000 with the Moon, Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius, the commonest set at 8.2% of the sample's Aquarius stelliums. Every such birth falls between 1998 and 2003, when the two outer planets were already there and the Moon only had to pass through for its two or three days. Feelings in this chart get processed in public first: shared in a group chat, tested against friends, turned into a cause. Being comforted one to one can feel more exposing than telling forty people.
Next, an imagined connector: the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Aquarius (6.0%), which needs no generation and turns up in late-January and February births of any year. This is the friend who introduces everyone to everyone, keeps up with former colleagues in three countries and remembers which of them would get on. The Sun is in detriment in Aquarius, which here means the self is found through the network rather than at its centre.
A third, hypothetical case: Mars, Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius (4.9%). Mars visited Aquarius only twice while both outer planets were there, from 26 November 1999 to 4 January 2000 and from 27 October to 8 December 2001, so those are the birth windows. Picture the student who organises the walkout, builds the petition site the same evening and loses interest the moment the argument turns personal. Mars in Aquarius gets angry at systems rather than people, which makes this cluster easy to work beside and hard to talk round once a principle is at stake.
Saturn or Uranus: which ruler to read an Aquarius stellium through
This site gives Saturn as the traditional ruler of Aquarius and Uranus as the modern one, and for this sign the choice changes the reading. Uranus is a member of 45.5% of the sample's Aquarius stelliums. In those charts the modern ruler sits inside the cluster it is meant to rule, so asking where Uranus is answers itself. Saturn is in only 13.6% of them, so the traditional ruler nearly always stands somewhere else, and its sign and house add something new: where the Aquarius planets send their work.
A worked example, invented: two people born three years apart, in March 1999 and March 2002. Both have Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius, so those planets say the same thing about each. Saturn does not. For the 1999 birth Saturn was in Taurus (1 March 1999 to 10 August 2000), which sends the cluster's ideals into money, land and things built to last. For the 2002 birth it was in Gemini (20 April 2001 to 4 June 2003), which sends them into writing, teaching and talk. Reading Saturn first is what separates two people from the same generation.
Uranus still earns its place. When it is in the cluster it describes the cohort's shared temperament: impatience with inherited rules, ease with technology, friendship as the primary bond. Treat it as the generation's signature and Saturn as the individual's instructions.
One dignity matters here. The Sun is in detriment in Aquarius, opposite its own Leo, and it is in only 49.5% of the sample's Aquarius stelliums. When it is a member, the sense of self is borrowed from a group, a field or a cause, and being singled out, even for praise, is uncomfortable. Detriment names that friction, not a weak character.
2nd house Aquarius stellium (Capricorn rising), and the 7th and 4th house versions
Aquarius falls in a different whole-sign house for each rising sign; the table below lists all twelve.
The 2nd house Aquarius stellium belongs to Capricorn rising. Saturn rules Capricorn as well as Aquarius, so for this rising the chart ruler and the cluster's traditional ruler are one planet, and Saturn's position does double duty. Take Venus, Uranus and Neptune there, an exact set in 6.8% of the sample's Aquarius stelliums and always a 1998–2003 birth. Money becomes a collective idea: income through networks, technology or community work, a habit of pooling (the shared-house kitty, the group subscription), and values that are political before they are personal. That is symbolism about what the person values, not guidance on what to do with money.
With Leo rising, Aquarius is the 7th house, and the axis between the two signs becomes the axis between self and partner. The person presents in Leo terms and chooses partners who are friends first, unconventional about the shape of the relationship, or more committed to a cause than to the couple.
With Scorpio rising, Aquarius is the 4th, the base of the chart. Home tends to be a collective arrangement: shared houses well past student age, a family with an unusual structure, a household run like a small committee. For Scorpio risings born 1998–2003 with Uranus and Neptune in that 4th, the family itself may have felt like an experiment.

Pluto in Aquarius until 2043, and Jupiter opposite: what crosses Aquarius stelliums now
Pluto first entered Aquarius on 23 March 2023, went back into Capricorn twice, and made its final ingress on 19 November 2024. It stays until 9 March 2043, with one more visit from 1 September 2043 to 19 January 2044. Between mid-2026 and mid-2028 it moves between about 3° and 9° Aquarius, so the planets in the first ten degrees of an Aquarius stellium are the ones under it now. Each Pluto contact tends to strip out the version of that planet's subject that no longer fits.
Uranus in Gemini trines those same degrees. It stationed retrograde on 10 September 2026 at 5°42′ Gemini, turns direct on 8 February 2027 at 1°41′, and is exactly trine Pluto on 29 November 2026 (3°32′), 15 June 2027 (6°52′), 13 January 2028 (6°20′) and 10 May 2028 (8°50′). An early-degree Aquarius planet therefore gets a Pluto conjunction and a Uranus trine in the same stretch: pressure, and an exit from it.
Jupiter in Leo opposes the sign from 30 June 2026 to 26 July 2027. It stations retrograde on 13 December 2026 at 27°01′ Leo and direct on 13 April 2027 at 17°00′, so an Aquarius planet between 17° and 27° is opposed three times. Jupiter's oppositions usually arrive through someone else: a partner's big plan, a rival's success, an offer that asks a group-minded chart to put its own name forward. Saturn, the traditional ruler, has just left: it was in Aquarius from 22 March to 1 July 2020 and from 17 December 2020 to 7 March 2023, and now sextiles the sign from Aries until April 2028.
Counting an Aquarius stellium: what is left when the outer planets go
With all ten bodies, 7.20% of charts have three or more planets in Aquarius and 1.90% have four or more. Leave out Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and the rate is 3.40%; keep only the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars and it is 1.92%. More than half of all Aquarius clusters vanish with the outer planets, because they were built on them, and the counting rule matters more here than for most signs.
That gives a quick test. 38.0% of Aquarius stelliums contain no outer planet at all, and those are the clusters that describe one person rather than a cohort. If yours still has three members after Uranus and Neptune are taken out, it is your own.
The sample stops at 2010, so it cannot see the children born with Neptune still in Aquarius up to early 2012, or anyone born since Pluto arrived. A Moon-based cluster depends on the birth time. And an Aquarius stellium is not an Aquarius Sun: 50.5% of the sample's Aquarius stelliums leave the Sun out.
Common questions
Is an Aquarius stellium rare?
Not especially. 7.20% of 60,000 computed charts have one, about one in fourteen. For people born in the 2000s it is more than one in six (18.3%), because Uranus and Neptune were in Aquarius together for most of 1998 to 2003.
What does an Aquarius stellium in the 2nd house mean?
It means Capricorn rising, so Saturn rules both the chart and the cluster. Values, income and possessions take on the Aquarius approach: shared, principled, often tied to networks or technology. It describes what the person values, not what they will earn; the 2nd house stellium page covers the house.
Is Pluto in Aquarius affecting my Aquarius stellium?
If a planet in it sits in roughly the first ten degrees of Aquarius, yes: Pluto moves between about 3° and 9° from mid-2026 to mid-2028. It stays in the sign until 2043, so later degrees get their turn. The stellium calculator gives your planets' degrees.
What does a stellium in Aquarius mean?
A chart concentrated on groups, fairness and systems rather than personal preference. Aquarius is fixed air, so it reasons to a position and keeps it. Saturn, the traditional ruler, adds structure and duty; Uranus, the modern ruler, adds the appetite for change.
Should I read my Aquarius stellium through Saturn or Uranus?
Both, Saturn first. Saturn usually sits outside the cluster, so its sign and house show where the cluster's effort goes. Uranus is inside 45.5% of Aquarius stelliums, where it describes your generation more than you.
The sign gives the style; the house it lands in needs your birth time. The calculator finds both.
